Questions about making a PDF look scanned
Who needs this?
Anyone asked to “print, sign and scan” a document who has no printer or scanner at hand: tenants returning a lease, employees sending HR or tax forms, freelancers countersigning contracts, students submitting signed forms. Some offices and agencies reject a flat digital signature but accept a scan, so this gives them the scanned, hand-signed look without the printer.
How do I make a PDF look scanned?
Open your PDF above (up to 20 MB), draw your signature or upload it as a PNG, place it on the page, then pick a scan preset: Light, Medium or Heavy. Download, and every page comes back with a slight tilt, paper texture, toner specks and edge shadow, like a page that went through an office scanner.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Your PDF is opened, signed and turned into a scan entirely in your browser, and it never leaves your device. The only thing ever sent to our server is your signature image, and only when you use Pro AI ink.
Is it free?
Yes. Drawing or uploading your signature, placing it and downloading the scanned PDF are free, with no account needed. Pro costs €3.99/month and adds unlimited AI ink that turns your signature into a realistic pen stroke.
Can I sign every page of a long document?
Yes. Use “Add to this page” on any page, or “Copy to all pages” to repeat a signature across the whole document. Each copy gets a slightly different angle and size, the way a hand-signed stack looks.
Can the text in the scanned PDF still be selected or edited?
No. Like a real scan, each page is saved as an image inside the PDF, so the text can't be selected or edited. Under Fine-tune scan you can choose color, grayscale or black and white, and set the resolution.
